Garden City Street and Parks Department

The Garden City Street & Park Department is dedicated to providing well-maintained streets and a park area for the citizens of Garden City, with over 18 miles of streets within the City limits. The Street Department is responsible for the snow removal during the winter months and to keep major intersections salted and sanded. They are constantly repairing and maintaining streets as the need arises. They maintain the ditches and keep clear so that in inclement weather the water will not cross over the roadway. The Department is also responsible for the maintenance and repair of all street and park equipment. The department is continually assessing street and park needs and then making improvements as budget and time allows.

The Garden City Park covers approximately ten acres and consists of two ball fields, two shelter houses, community building, aquatics center, two basketball courts and several pieces of playground equipment. The Street/Park Department works daily to police the park checking for vandalism and removing trash and debris. They keep the Park well-groomed, providing a safe and clean environment for the citizens to engage in activities that promote health, well-being, community and the environment and recreational opportunities for current and future generations. Although the Park Department budget is very limited, they are continually working to upgrade our playground and recreational equipment to enhance the quality of life for our residents.
